Transportation Achievement Award
This award is given annually to an organization(s) (government agency, consulting firm, private business or corporation, combined public/private institution, or academic institution) for the advancement of transportation. The award will recognize an organization(s) for one or more of the following:
a) development and/or application of an innovative concept in transportation planning, design, or operations
b) the implementation of a “difficult” transportation project through perseverance in its development and promotion
c) a project having a significant effect on transportation
d) a project promoting a major advance in the efficiency and/or economy of transportation.
Cooperative efforts among multiple organizations will be recognized but shall be limited to no more than three organizations for a single award. Projects eligible for this award must have been completed or implemented in the last three years. In August, the Vice President shall call for nominations for the Transportation Achievement Award. Nominations shall be accepted throughout the year but are typically due September 30th for the current year's award.
The President shall appoint a review committee of no less than three (3) Past Presidents to recommend a winner for this award. The President shall present a plaque to the winner(s) at the Annual Meeting.
